The Werehouse site, here at www.werehouse.org is a home cloud service run for the family and friends of the Colorado werehouse, a communal household of therians and others.
Unless you were specifically invited, there's probably nothing of use for you here. This server exists to let our family and friends play online games, communicate with each other, back up our data, make shopping lists for the grocery store, share pictures, and keep a communal calendar.
If you are a member of our tribe seeking access, you know the drill. Ask Coyote.
If you've made it here by accident or serendipity, do consider dropping me a line to say hey, and let me know how you stumbled upon us! I'm not concealing this site beyond letting search engines know we don't wish to be indexed, but I am fascinated by how information travels, and how people make seemingly random connections.
If you came here to make trouble or break things - everything's backed up, and nothing has any real value if stolen. I'll just put the data back.
If arriving here has made you curious about Personal Cloud or Home Cloud services, that makes me happy! I hope to evangelize everyone replacing corporate cloud services from the likes of Google and Amazon and Facebook with tools that the end-user (like you and your family) own and control.
By installing a home cloud, we are are able to run our own game and file servers, back up our computers, and manage our own digital lives on our terms. All our photos, calendars, media, our art, our digital lives are in our hands, on equipment we control.
Things we no longer need: Google Drive and Docs, Microsoft Office Online, Third-party photo-sharing apps, commercial backup utilities, Wordpress or other hosted blogs, external calendar apps or tasks programs.
We do offsite backups too, but now that's the plan B, not the only game. Plan A is right here next to my desk.
